Fee Refund Guidelines
Refund Guidance as of March 24, 2020
In light of the evolving circumstances related to COVID-19, Cal Poly is providing this information to help address fee refund-related questions.
Spring Quarter Tuition and Registration Fees:
Tuition and registration fees continue to be based on enrollment. Curriculum is still being delivered for spring quarter. In addition, associated programs and facilities continue to be administered for the ongoing benefit of current and future Cal Poly students.
Refunds for tuition and registration fees will be based on changes in enrollment. In order to receive a full refund, you must drop all enrolled classes prior to the start of the quarter (April 5). Cal Poly will waive late registration and late add appeal fees resulting from circumstances associated with COVID-19. For more information about tuition and registration fees please visit the Student Accounts website.
Spring Quarter Campus-based Fees:
Housing and Dining Fees:
If you will not be living on campus during spring quarter because you have moved to your permanent home residence and would like to receive a refund, please make sure to submit a housing cancellation request in your Housing Portal prior to April 6, 2020. Cancellation requests received after the start of the quarter will result in a prorated refund of housing and dining charges.
To cancel your housing and dining plans, visit University Housing in your Cal Poly Portal, then click on Housing Cancellations. Cal Poly will waive cancellation fees associated with housing and dining changes resulting from circumstances associated with COVID-19.
Refunds are available for annual or spring quarter permits based on the date of purchase and the date the refund is requested. In order to request a refund, please email Transportation and Parking Services at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For more information, please visit the Transportation & Parking Services website.
To ensure fast and accurate refunding, please sign up for Direct Deposit in the ‘Money Matters’ tab of your Cal Poly Portal and make sure your mailing address is up-to-date in the ‘Personal Info’ tab.
